On May 29, 1865 AD, Muharram 4, 1282 Hijri, an Ottoman document was issued by the Endowments Department endowments under the title of "Counting the gifts in the treasury of the holy shrine of Abu al-Fadhl al-Abbas (peace be upon him)", a document that was classified within the endowments book.
The contents of the document
The document is a page from the book of the Endowments Department that contains an inventory of the gifts placed in the treasury of the holy shrine of Abu al-Fadhl al-Abbas "peace be upon him", which were inventoried according to the Ottoman supreme authority at the end of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Qi'dah in 1281 Hijri with the presence of both the Mutasarif (Mayor) of Karbala, the local judge, and members of the board of directors of the district.
Those gifts and donations were inspected and examined, as follows:
A Quran in a white bag in the form of a collection written in Kufic script by Imam Ali "peace be upon him" – Total: 1 item.
A Qur’an in a bag in the form of a collection written in Kufic script by Imam Zain Ul-Abidin "peace be upon him" - Total: 1 item.
A Holy Qur’an in normal handwriting within a scarlet bag - Total: 1 item.
Surah Yassin and Al Imran written in plain script within a cloth bag - Total: 1 item.
Surah Al-Baqara written in golden script, in a bag, - Total: 1 item.
A Qur’an written by Hajj Muhammad Mohsen, local and tabular, in an ordinary bag- Total: 1 item.
Qur’an written in plain and tabular script - Total: 1 item.
A Waziri Qur’an written in gilded script. Between its lines, an interpretation in Farsi. - Total: 1 item.
A medium-sized Qur’an wrapped in an ordinary bag- Total: 1 item.
