The most important challenges facing Karbala’s health sector, a poll by KCSR reveals

The Karbala Center for Studies and Research “KCSR” at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain ”PBUH”, announced on Saturday, August 13, 2022, the results of an opinion poll about the most important challenges facing the health sector in the Holy city of Karbala.

 

"The health sector is one of the most important indicators of urbanization in contemporary societies because of its link to human development, as it seeks to provide the best services to society, considering health services as a humanitarian and an economic necessity that has a positive impact on physical capabilities and mental health of the members of society,” said Ms. Nour Abbas al-Nasrawi, the head of Statistics and Opinion Surveys Unit in the KCSR's Research and Development Division.

 

She added, "The opinions of (519) people in all regions of the governorate, were surveyed. Based on the results, it was found that (33.9%) of the respondents believe that the most important challenges facing the health sector in Karbala are the lack of some medical devices and the lack of efficiency of the available ones. (20.2%) of the respondents believe that the weak control in preserving rare medicines related to chronic diseases are the most important challenges facing the health sector.”

 

"(18.3%) of the respondents said that health institutions in districts and sub-districts suffer from a severe shortage of medical staff and workers, while (14.1%) believe that health institutions have not adopted standards in distributing them to administrative units on a regular basis,” Al-Nasrawi emphasized.
