Mourning processions began from the early hours of the morning to flock to the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in order to extend condolences on the death anniversary of his venerable mother, Umm Al-Baneen (peace be upon her), whose memory will take place tomorrow, Wednesday (13 Jumada II 1442 AH).
This is a mourning custom that these processions are used to perform on such days, as these mourning processions flock from inside and outside the Karbala province, within a temporal and spatial schedule prepared by the Department of Rituals, Processions and the Hussayni Institutions in the Holy Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them).
During the march of these processions, the mourners chant elegies that indicated the greatness and stature of this figure, her patience, and her Jihad for the sake of God, through her sacrifice of her four children in support of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and for the sake of preserving the religion that the Umayyad tried to distort. This lady occupies a high position and special status in the hearts of the lovers and followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
The head of the aforementioned department, Haj Riad Ni'mah al-Salman - which is the body responsible for organizing the movement and flow of these processions - explained to the al-Kafeel network, saying: “This morning, the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine began to receive condolences processions that came and would come from inside and outside the Karbala governorate, to express condolences on the death of the venerable lady Umm al-Baneen (Peace be upon her). Our department made a plan to organize the movement and flow of these processions, as the paths of their movement were determined to ensure their flow and non-intersection with the movement of visitors, in addition to the spread of a number of our staffs at the entrances and exits of the holy shrine to accompany them since they enter the shrine until the end of their mourning ritual."
He added: "Tomorrow, a unified procession for the people of the holy Karbala, will launch, starting its march from the Baghdad gate area, preceded by a symbolic coffin heading to the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) to perform the Ziyarat rituals. After that the procession will pass by the square between the two holy shrines to go to the shrine of the martyrs’ master; Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), where a mourning council will be held to conclude their mourning."
