Engineer Dia Majid Al-Sayegh, head of the Engineering Projects Department at the al-Abbas's (P) holy shrine announced the initiation of preliminary work for the cladding of the great Iwan’s "Taremah" ground in the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), which is the final cladding works of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), after finishing from cladding the holy sanctuary, its courtyard and the Iwans.
He also stated to the al-Kafeel Network that these cladding works coincided with the work of strengthening and gilding the Iwan of gold, so they were postponed, and today we started the preparation work for its cladding within the space that extends from the outer wall of the holy sanctuary, all the way to the strip separating it from its holy courtyard."
He added: "The work will be divided into three phases, and we have started on the right side of the entrance to the "Taremah". The works will include removing the old alabaster. Then the floor will be treated with special materials while re-wiring and maintaining communications, electricity, water and others service systems. The ground was then re-cladded with small gravel that was flattened then a grid of reinforcing iron was put in place. This was followed by casting concrete at a height commensurate with the levels of the Holy Sanctuary and in a way that secures flat cladding."
The project is executed by the Engineering Projects Department and the Engineering Maintenance Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine. It is a complement to a series of projects carried out in a the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), as a result of the great damage of the current marble, which led to the distortion of its general view in addition to being old (50 years).
