The 2nd Holy Karbala - Al Razzazah Road Project Resumed

Iraq's Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, through the "Ashur Public Company" and under the supervision of the Ministry's Roads and Bridges Department, has resumed the implementation of the project of constructing the second path for the Karbala Governorate - Razaza - Al-Ukhaidir road.

 

The ministry's media office stated that the length of the road is (45) km and its width is 8 m it extends from the holy Karbala governorate to Al-Razazah, passing through Al-Ukhaidir area to the cement plant and to the Arar border crossing within the overland pilgrimage road.

 

The current completion rate of the project is about 53%, and its total cost is about 28 billion dinars (equal to 22,400,000 USD).

 

The office also said that the road has great strategic importance for its role in reducing traffic momentum on religious occasions witnessed by the holy governorate.
