Virtual Photo Exhibition in France Features Arbaeen March

The Iranian Cultural Center in Paris, France, has mounted an exhibition featuring photos of the annual Arbaeen march in Iraq.

According to Iqna.ir, it began on October 7 and will run for a month, according to the cultural center.

Arbaeen, which fell on Thursday, October 8, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Imam in Islam, Hussein Bin Ali (AS).

Each year, a huge crowd of Shias flock to the Iraqi city of Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rites.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Iraq’s government allowed each country to send at most 1,500 pilgrims to take part in the Arbaeen procession this year.
