Believers of Nigeria joined the Arbaeen trek on foot from Najaf to Karbala.
According to local news outlets and social media accounts, dozens of Nigerian processions have joind this annual religious event on October 8, 2020 AD, Saffar 20, 1442 Hijri.
Arbaeen, "The fortieth day" is a religious observance that occurs forty days after the Day of Ashura. It commemorates the martyrdom of Hussain ibn Ali, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUT), who was martyred on the 10th day of the month of Muharramby tyrant Yazid in the Battle of Karbala in 61 Hijri (680 CE).
