The Hussaini Processions Department of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas' holy shrines, announced the completion of all preparations for receiving the mourning processions to commemorate the annual Arbaeen pilgrimage in the holy city of Karbala.
With the approach of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, and within the early annual preparations for the holy shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother Imam Abbas "A. S.", the deputy head of the Hussaini Processions Department in Iraq and the Islamic World, "Hashem al-Mousawi", said that “More than (50) thousand processions belonging to different countries worldwide, are officially registered in the department's records, and due to the current pandemic conditions, it was not possible for the foreign processions to participate in the Arbaeen this year as a result of not obtaining necessary approvals."
"The Arbaeen season for this year will witness the participation of (10) thousands Hosseini processions from inside Iraq only," al-Mousawi added, explaining that “Special procedures ,instructions, and databases have been put in place for the sponsors of Hussaini processions coming from other governorates to enter Karbala Governorate during the Arbaeen pilgrimage to provide services to the pilgrims."
"The instructions stipulate the necessity of adhering to the recommendations and directives emphasized by the Supreme Religious Authority in its last statement with the application of health protection and social distancing conditions, in addition to adhering to the operational timing for every mourning procession as set by the department," he added.
It is noteworthy that among the activities made by Processions Department of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas' holy shrines, is organizing the process of registering and entering the Hussaini processions from the Iraqi governorates, and from all over the world, and the provision of all services and whereabouts allocated to each one of them, and other matters related to the services provided to pilgrims.
