An archeological castle where Imam Hussain "A S" stayed on his way to Karbala

Through the past few yearsThe Karbala Center for Studies and Research conducted a survey for the areas or stations where Imam Hussain and his family and companions "peace be upon them", stopped on their way to Karbala.

About 29 miles west from the holy city of Karbala lies the heritage castle of "Bani Muqatil", one of the areas where Imam Hussein stopped.

The director of Karbala Center Mr. Abdul Ameer al-Quraishy said, “Using a GBR device, a group of geologists, physicists, and historians from Babylon University along with our team, have embarked on a mission to mark the areas where Imam Hussein stayed.”

“The specialist team has collected all the information about this heritage site and proved that it is surely one of the places where Imam Hussain stopped,” al-Quraishy added.

The Karbala Center for Studies and Research, affiliated with Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, is working on a comprehensive study related to the main areas where Imam Hussein stayed after crossing the Iraqi border.
