The Administrative Divisions of the Karbala District, Ottoman Documents

Depending on the Ottoman documents published within "Mawsueat Karbala Al-Hadharia" or the Karbala Civilizational Encyclopedia, the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein "A. S", has extracted and interpreted some of the data about the formerly Karbala District.

According to the Ottoman Empire's general encyclopedias or as was known as "Salnamas" issued in 1266 AH, 1849 AD, the Karbala District was among the administrative divisions of the Baghdad Brigade back then.
