Sheikh Baqir Al-Shirazi Al-Haeri was a virtuous scholar, a preacher, and a author. He was distinguished for having a great deal of knowledge.
He used to take the pulpit after the prayer in the holy shrine of the Imam Hussein "A. S" under the Imamate of Sheikh Muhammad Salih Al-Kada Ali. His voice would be heard by everyone who attended his majlis from Bab Al-Sidra quarter to the Hassan Khan religious school.
Al-Shirazi also was well known by his special rhetoric as well as his loud voice that Sultan Nasir al-Din Shah al-Qajari hired him in Karbala after he recited him the pilgrimage text upon the latter's arrival to Karbala.
He immigrated later to the Iranian city of Qom and died there in 1909 Hijri, 1890 AD, then his remains was carried to Karbala and was buried in the holy shrine of the Imam Hussein "A. S" under the location of his old pulpit.
Sheikh Baqir Al-Shirazi has left many of the publications about sermons, which were kept by his son, Sheikh Mahdi Al-Shirazi, nicknamed "Sultan Al-Waezyn" or "The Sultan of Preachers".
