Sayyid Darwish bin Hussein bin Darwish bin Ahmed bin Yahya bin Khalifa bin Nimat Allah bin Al-Sayyid Alam Al-Din Al-Faezi Al-Musawi Al-Haeri Al Toa'ma, a virtuous preacher and a pious scholar.

He was born in the holy city of Karbala; yet, the exact date of his birth is unknown. He grew up in a house prosperous with knowledge and scholars at the hands of honorable parents.

He had a righteous upbringing, as he joined the path of his ancestors of knowledge and religious studies, and studied under Karbala's most prominent professors, taking the art of public speaking from his father until he became one of the famous preachers in his time, therefore, he used to take the Menbar in the holy shrine of Imam Hussein "peace be upon him."

Al Toa'ma started to narrate hadiths and guidance, as he reside alongside a group of well-known scholars such as Sayyid Ali Taqi Al-Tabatabai, Sayyid Mohsen Al-Bahrani, Sayyid Ahmed Bin Kazem Al-Rashti, and others.

After spending most of his life serving religious knowledge and preserving it, he died in Karbala in 1293 Hijri, 1876 AD and was buried there.
