Karbala Preachers… Sayyid Ali Al-Misbah

Sayyid Ali bin al-Sayyid Mustafa al-Misbah al-Husseini al-Haeri, known as "Al-Basir", is one of the most prominent preachers of the al-Husayni minbar, a virtuous preacher, an expert in Islamic sciences.

 

Al-Misbah was born in the holy city of Karbala in 1317 Hijri, 1899 AD. He grew up under two honorable parents, and was a student of Sheikh Abu Al-Qasim Al-Khoei in Al-Sadr Al-Aadham Al-Nouri Religious School, as well as a number of Karbala's virtuous scholars such as Sayyid Mustafa Al-Faqih and others.

 

He had a passion for oratory, and preached at the Husseini minbar. He also he had wide knowledge in the narration of the holy hadiths, not to mention his expertise of Arabic, Persian and Turkish languages.

 

He died in the city of Karbala in 1393 Hijri, 1944 AD, and was buried in the courtyard of the Holy Shrine of Imam Al-Hussein "peace be upon him" next to Shuhada'a Gate.
