On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, the Parliamentary Legislation Department has held a dialogue session with a number of Iraqi studies and research centers, including a delegation of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein “AS”.

The session was initiated by the Director General of the Parliamentary Legislation Department, Mr. Muhammad Qasim Al-Mayahi, with a speech in which he welcomed the esteemed visitors and valued their keenness to cooperate and communicate with the department in order to support the legislative process. He also reviewed the tasks and policies of the department, its achievements and plans for the next stage as a specialized technical body in the field of legislation.

The session, which was held in the House of Representatives, dealt with the prospects for cooperation and partnership between the legislative authority and think tanks and research centers to unify efforts and to integrate roles to promote the reality of the legislation process.

This session comes as a part of the Legislation Department's policy to communicate with think tanks and research centers and to benefit from Iraqi experiences.

The center was represented by Dr. Thamer Makki Ali, who reviewed the center's scientific and research projects, especially the concerns related to the domestic violence law, drug control, and cybercrime, which were discussed after conducting opinion polls through scientific seminars in cooperation with relevant institutions.
