Pakistan: Youm-e-Ali observed peacefully

Youm-e-Ali (RA) was observed peacefully in the city on 21st Ramadan. The annual procession was organized to commemorate the day of martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA) in which thousands of devotees took part. According to Nation.com.pk, mourning processions followed the set routes and gathered at the pre-decided venues.

 

The central procession started from Mubarak Haveli and passed through Chowk Nawab Sahab, Mochi Gate, then passed through Kucha Sheyan, Old Kotwali and Kashmir Bazaar. After crossing the Bhati Gate, the procession concluded at Karbala Gamay Shah near Lower Mall.

 

Strict security arrangements were ensured throughout the procession and a number of security personnel were on duty. Officers of other departments including district administration personnel were also present with the procession to ensure the peaceful observance of Youm E Ali.
