His name and descent: he is Salim the follower of Bani Kalb Abdullah bin Amr bin Ayyash bin Abd Qais (1)
Because of his virtues and bravery, there is a mention about him during the pilgrimage ceremonies at the holy shrine of Imam Al-Hussein (peace be upon him) that says (Peace be upon Salim Mawla bani Al-Madinah al-Kalbi). (2)
His Martyrdom: he was one of the most prominent martyrs with Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in the battle of Karbala. (3)
