Contemporary People Of Thought And Literature From The City Of Karbala

It have been emerged in the holy city of Karbala in the last two centuries, a number of men of religion, thought, literature and society, who have been able to enrich the life of Karbala with their gifts and with the beauty of their sciences and literature.

In these lines we will stand at a number of men of the Karbala society in that era:

 

- Hassan bin Abi Al-Ma'ali Mohammed Baqer who known as Agha Mir bin al-Mirza Mahdi bin Mohammed Baqir al-Moussawi al-Hae'ri:

A majestic clerk who was born in Karbala in 1296 Hijri and died on the 26th of the Islamic month of Rajab in 1380 Hijri.

He has several books: The Grand Imamate, Al- Hae'ri Curricula in Revoking the Book of al-Hdiyiah al-Saniyah, Sharh al-Lama'a, Al-Hdiyiah al-Saniyah in Revoking Wahhabism, Huda al-Mullah to Fadak as a gift, the Imamate Masterpiece in refuting the arguments of Wahhabism.

 

- Hassan bin Ismail al-Hae'ri:

He was one of the most prominent figures in the city of Karbala, and was the son-in-law of Sayyid Muhammad Hussein al-Mara'shi al-Shahristani, who died in 1315 Hijri. His works included: Sharh al-Tabsirah, Al-Tuhfa al-Husseiniah, A Message in Hunting, The Husseini bases.

 

- Hassan bin Sheikh Abbas bin Sheikh Mohammed Ali al-Balaghi al-Hae'ri:

A virtuous clerk, a jurist and a devout. He explained the famous book of Al-Sahifa al-Sajadiyah in two parts by his hand writing in 1105 Hijri. He also wrote about the book of Sahih al-Jawhari on the 9th of the Islamic month of Dhul-Qa'dah in 1104 Hijri. He was referring to himself as "Al-Karbalai".

 

- Sheikh Hasan Ibn al-Mawla Abdullah ibn Muhammad al-Mamqani

A great scholar and a dedicated jurist in the pursuit for knowledge. He was born in 1238 Hijri, then emigrated with his father to Karbala when he was a several months old. His father died when he was at the age of eight years. He was raised by Sheikh Muhammad Hussein Sahib al-Fusoul.

Al-Mamqani has reached a supreme rank later and lived in the religious school of "Hasan Khan" in Karbala.

He  Died on the 8th of the Islamic month of Muharram in 1323 Hijri. He wrote: Bushra al-Usool, and Makasib al-Sheikh al-Ansari.

 

- Hassan "The Teacher" Ibn Ali Bin Mohammed Baqer

He was born in 1210 Hijri and died in 1273 Hijri. He emigrated to Karbala, as he attended many seminars about the science of "Al-Usool". He studied under the scholar Hajj Muhammad Ibrahim al-Kalabasi.

He wrote many book, some of them were: Jawami'I Al-Usool, Hajj rituals, and Answers for Various Issues.

 

-Hassan Bin Mohammed Baqir Bin Abdul Muttalib Al-Alawi Al-Aridhi Al-Bishrawi

He lives in Karbala, in which he was born in 1247 Hijri. He was a virtuous scholar and a great author as he wrote the books of Usool Jamai'I al-I'lm and Al-Fawa'id al-Hae'riya in the jurisprudence of Imamate.

 

- Sheikh Hassan bin Mohammed Ali Hae'ri

He was a pure scholar and was of the brilliant students of Sayyid Muhammad al-Mujahid al-Tabatabai. He died in Karbala and was buried there in 1242 Hijri. He wrote Muhaj al-Ahzan, Reciting Qur'aan, Al-Mughtanim of Fiqh, Ikmal al-Islah.

 

Sayyid Hussein Bin Sayyid Hassan Al-Masoumi Al-Haeri

A righteous clerk and great author who was born in Karbala in 1301 Hijri and died in 1374 Hijri. He wrote Miftah al-Tafasir, Kashf al-Ayat.

 

- Sheikh Hussein bin Ali bin Mohammed bin Ali bin Mohammed Taqi bin Bahaa al-Din al-Fattoni al-Hae'ri

A pious scholar , and commendable man. He was born in Karbala and died in it too on 1278 Hijri, he wrote Al- Dawha al-Mahdiah in the dates of the infallible Imams.

 

- Hussein bin Mohammed bin Hussein bin Suleiman Al-Hae'ri:

His works are well-known as he also has published articles. He is the owner of the Al-Aa'lami Publications Foundation. He was born in 1358 Hijri - 1939 AD
