The document sent by the Ministry of religious affairs to the Prime Ministry, dated on 1301 Hijri - 1884 AD, which stated that the Sunnis in the district of Karbala have built one mosque and one school by the donations collected from wealthier citizens, and that the majority of the district of Karbala, are Shiites and therefore, the knowledge and literature are also Shiite, so it's must be acknowledged that there should be a school and mosque of the Sunnis in the city, to provide scientific and religious service to their followers.
For the purpose of continuing their work on a regular basis, it was decided to appoint one of the famous Sheikhs Taha Effendi, an imam, a preacher and a teacher at the mosque and the school, as well as appointing a number of his staff.
(300) piasters were allocated for the school, (100) piasters for the imam and the khateeb, Sheikh Taha Effendi, (40) for the salary of the servant, (30) salary pennies for the muezzin, and 25) a salary salary for Abrajji, (91) piasters miscellaneous expenses, and the total amount of salary per month (586) piasters, and under the notice of the Baghdad State Council.
The money is paid from the surplus income from the revenues of the Baghdad endowment, but the Baghdad Endowments Department proposed that it pay from the funds and revenues of the holy sites of Husseiniya and Abbasid.
