In the area of "Bab Baghdad" there was a bridge called (Qantarat al-Hudaybiyah). This bridge has witnessed a fierce battle between the people of the city of Karbala who aspire to get rid of the Ottoman occupation, and the Ottoman military leader "Ibrahim Adham Bek" who joined the forces of the administrator "Hamza Bek".
It is worth mentioning that this battle took place on the first night of the Islamic month of Rajab in 1334 Hijri, May 15, 1916 AD, and led to the death of a large number of Ottoman gendarmes that was estimated at 10 thousand soldiers.
