The Supreme Religious Authority Calls For Avoiding Dispute Settlement With Violence, Warns Of Singular Decisions

The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mehdi al-Karbalai, called for avoiding dispute settlement with force and violence, as well as to make decisions according to mood swings or personal opinions.

Al-Karbalai said In the Friday’s sermon held at the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine on March 15, 2019, that political disputes over governmental positions, had put the country in a cycle of instability and underdevelopment comparing to other countries, as well as the loss of opportunities to provide services to the citizens.

The representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyied Ali Al-Sistani, said that "It is time to stop negligence, and to take examples from past experiences and present suffering to solidify future hopes towards the people and the homeland".

"The difference is natural and it coming from the differences among human beings in human society regarding cultures, ideas, traditions, competition and so on," he said, stressing on the necessity that "Differences should not turn into fighting or conflict".

He called for "Avoiding the negative effects and damage caused by conflicts at various levels such as family, society and workplace."

The Supreme Religious Authority's representative called also for the "Promotion of a climate of respect, patience and tolerance in terms of conditions faced by the family, and the following of wise methods in dealing with family problems through understanding, dialogue and patience so they don’t reach the level of disintegration or divorce," stressing that "The differences should not lead to clash point, and that everyone should feel as complementary to each other while working as a team to solve issues at hand".

Al-Karbalai also warned from "The turning of difference into dispute, and dispute into clash, because it will lead to the failure of everybody," addressing the political, social entities, and clans by saying, "There is no victor, and everyone are doomed to fail when you weaken, wasting your strength, and giving up your pride".

He also warned against the use of taboos such as social defamation, gossipو and indignity as tools in disputation, because they will lead to a state of quarrels, hate, and hostility among the members of society, instead of love, friendship, and cooperation for the benefit of all.

Sheikh Abdul-Mehdi al-Karbalai added that "When it comes to the differences in public rights issue, the final call should not be based on personal decisions and desires, but by resorting to the legitimate legislations, or by following the rule of law," warning that exceeding these limits will lead to the spread of chaos in society.
