A ceremony was held at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala, Iraq, to celebrate Takleef (the start of religious obligations for individuals).
Some 1,250 Iraqi girls attended the ceremony, which was organized by the general secretariat of the holy shrine.
According to Iqna.ir, the program included recitation of verses from the Quran, singing religious songs, and recitation of poems.
The girls also received gifts from the officials of the general secretariat.
Every year, similar celebrations are held in the holy city ahead of the birthday of Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent).
This year, the auspicious occasion falls on Friday, March 18.
