The courtyard between the Two Holy Shrines witnessed the partial opening of the pavilions of the fifteenth edition of the Fatimi Season of Sorrows Festival, which is held annually by the Department of Hussaini Rites, Processions and bodies in the two holy shrines, after the staff of the engineering maintenance and construction department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine finished installing the pavilions and providing them with the necessary supplies, under the supervision of the preparatory committee for the festival, which decided to partially open it, in preparation for the official opening, which will take place next Friday afternoon.
According to En.abna24.com, the festival is held in glorification of the rituals of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and in commemoration and remembrance of the martyrdom of the daughter of the chosen Prophet; Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), whose sad martyrdom anniversary coincides with the thirteenth of Jumada al-Thaniya every year according to the second narration.
Head of the Department of Hussaini Rites, Processions, and Bodies; Hajj Riyadh Ni'mah al-Salman, said, “This is the fifteenth edition of this festival, and is considered one of the important mourning seasons that our department is commemorating annually, to shed light on the memory of the departure of the Lady al-Zahra (peace be upon her) and to highlight her grievances. It is called the smallest Ashura."
He added that "the festival will include several activities, the most important of which is the (panorama) with audios and videos, of important stations from the life of Lady al-Zahra (peace be upon her), and there will also be the participation of some libraries in Karbala to place their intellectual and cultural products in the hands of the festival's goers and visitors. In addition to the participation of Karbala Hussayniat through special mourning activities, there will also be other activities during the days of the festival.”
