A group of Quran reciters and memorizers from Mauritania visited the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala, Iraq.
The Mauritanian delegation, which included prayer leaders of mosques from the African country, was welcomed by officials of the holy shrine’s general secretariat, Qafqn.org website reported.
The delegation also paid a visit to the radio channel of the holy shrine and attended a live show hosted by Iraqi Quran master Ali al-Khafaji.
They then held a meeting with the radio channel’s director Abdul Latif al-Hasnawi.
During the visit, the Mauritanian delegation discussed cooperation in Quranic fields and organizing joint programs with the general secretariat.
The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a country in the Maghreb region of western North Africa.
The country’s population is estimated to be about 4 million and virtually all Mauritanians are Muslims.
Quranic activities and programs are very popular in this African country.
