Karbala governorate is a “Koi Herpesvirus” - free

On Sunday, October 24, 2021, the veterinary hospital in Karbala has confirmed that the fish lakes in the governorate are free of the “Koi Herpesvirus” that emerged in some governorates.

The hospital director “Wissam Al-Jabri” said in a press statement, "The fish lakes in Karbala have not yet recorded any infection with the Koi Herpesvirus, which causes sickness and death among fish."

"The veterinary hospital took a number of preventive measures in this matter and formed special teams to investigate all fish farms and lakes in the governorate on a daily basis," Al-Jabri added.

The veterinary hospital also instructed all breeders to adopt the correct methods of breeding and the use of sterilizers.
