Ashura uprising took place to revive original Muhammadan Islam: Indonesian figure

The former head of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) Organization in Indonesia said, “It is necessary to create a society inspired by Imam Hussain (a.s.), in which everyone of every religion and creed, especially Muslims, love and respect each other.”

The Arbaeen pilgrim from Jakarta, the Indonesian capital stated to En.abna24.com, “Thank God we were able to participate in this great event this year with a group of six people from Indonesia.”

“We came to Karbala from Najaf on foot in four days. The Walk is attended by various nationalities and denominations of Shiites, Sunnis, and Christians. Imam Hussain (a.s.) does not belong only to a specific group. He is the third Imam of the Shiites, but he belongs to all religions and denominations. Because he is the qibla of the freemen of the world,” said Sayed Hassan Dalil al-Adrus, the former head of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) organization in Indonesia, on his feelings about Arbaeen.

“After World War II, governments sought to establish a global institution under which nations could unite, live in harmony, and build world peace. When the United Nations was formed, wars were still going on, and the United Nations could not bring all the nations together. Therefore, we must all learn from the revolution of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and unite under his banner,” added the 60-year-old pilgrim.

“Imam Hussain (a.s.) rose to revive the original Muhammadan Islam. Because at that time, Islam was distorted by the sons of Abu Sufyan, therefore, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) rebelled against the Umayyads. It is stated in the Quran that the Jews distorted the teachings of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) with rotten thoughts, dirty hearts, and dark plans. Therefore, the revival of Islam was necessary to return the sacred teachings to their path,” he stated on the goals of the uprising of Imam Hussain (a.s.).

“Fifty years after the demise of the Prophet (p.b.u.h), Islam faced many hardships, and several big wars caused a lot of problems. Many companions and members of the family of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) passed away in the wars. For 50 years, the criminals wanted to extinguish the light of God and distort Islam. During the reign of Yazid, the situation worsened, and most people did not dare to fight and even some of them pledged allegiance to him,” added the former head of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) organization in Indonesia.

“Imam Hussain (a.s.) had few followers, whose number hardly reached 100. Yazid’s forces attacked Imam Hussain (a.s.) with all their might. Yazid’s supporters seemingly won, but where is Yazid now? Yazid and his forces were buried, and most of them were tragically killed. Because of his malice, Yazid is cursed everywhere. Muslims support the uprising of Imam Hussain (a.s.). Imam Hussain (a.s.) was martyred oppressed and his holy head was transferred from one city to another. The enemies transferred his captive family from Karbala to Kufa, and from Kufa to Damascus. But with the sermons of Imam Sajjad (a.s.) and Lady Zainab (a.s.), Yazid and Ibn Ziad were disgraced and humiliated. Today, Shiites remember this tragedy and weep over the tragedy of the AhlulBayt (a.s.),” he also added.

“Shiites call Muharram the month of mourning. In Indonesia, too, many Muslims do not hold parties this month. Because they sympathize with the family of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and are sad for the tragedies that happened to them. On the birthday of Imam Hassan (a.s.) and Imam Hussain (a.s.) when the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) is happy, we Indonesians are also happy and we are celebrating. The Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) introduced his two grandchildren as the two lords of the youth of Paradise. When Archangel Gabriel informed the Prophet Muhammad that his grandson would be martyred, the Prophet wept. Therefore, the Prophet (p.b.u.h) was the first to weep for the calamity of Imam Hussain (a.s.). For this reason, many also cried for Imam Hussain (a.s.). Therefore, we say to Imam Hussain (a.s.) “We follow you with your holy intention”,” he stated.

“With the weeping over the sufferings that happened to Imam Hussain (a.s.) in the month of Muharram, we want to follow and renew his firm determination and path. Therefore, we must continue to improve the cultural and religious situation of society. Today, we must fight against the Yazids of our time, who are destroying our country, the values, order, and ideals of our country. Therefore, it is necessary to create a society inspired by Imam Hussain (a.s.), in which everyone of every religion and creed, especially Muslims, love and respect each other.” said Sayed Hassan Dalil al-Adrus on the philosophy of weeping over the sufferings of Imam Hussain (a.s.).

“Loving Imam Hussain (a.s.) and following his path and school, can be the point of human unity to create a harmonious life between nations, and peaceful coexistence,” he concluded in the end.
