The Vision
Karbala Center for Studies and Research is looking forward to have an active role in the human and scientific studies of the city of Karbala. It is also looking forward finding the mutual ground of progressive communication with intellectual and decision makers, cooperating with all local, regional, and international symmetrical institutions in order to achieve the common goals.
The Message Karbala Center for Studies and Research supports and provides motivating research environment for finesse of scientific research in different fields by creating complete system for scientific research, managing and spreading knowledge, and introducing practical and fine research that serves the local and international society progress; which also participate in creating practical solutions of the problems in the society. Our center provides studies and research that have direct effect on the community of Karbala which supports the historical and religious legacy of Karbala in a modern form.
The Goals Karbala Center for Studies and Research is aiming at developing knowledge production in all fields in a qualitative form to convoys the human and cultural credit and filling the missing areas from the cultural and scientific stocks of the authentic school of Islam according to the following:
1. The Individual and community development by monitoring the reality with its positives and problems, attracting qualified personnel, creating projects based on studies in accordance with the deliberate standards to enhance moderation and tolerant dialogue.
2. Scientific development through the study of scientific reality, supporting existing research and develop them, and supporting emerging ideas and converting them form the theoretical form into a practical reality by converting preparation of work plans stage into operation and reap the preliminary results.
3. The development of all printed, electronic, and visual forms of media, culture, and educations, and opening new and unconventional gates to the world by producing innovative programs.
4. The economic development and making samples for existing projects according to the economic vision of Islam to be examples spread to the world as a models of work in the economic fields like agriculture, industry, services…etc.
5. Supporting the culture of freedom and human rights around the globe.
6. Development of volunteering activity and charity work, and connecting all active institutions in this field on both local and international levels.
7. Protecting the historical and the cultural heritage, and securing its way to the future.
8. Supporting and developing medical research at all levels, and the supplement of the existing and future medical projects with infrastructure to create developed scientific research system.
9. The communication with others through the human civilizations dialogue and the peoples’ cultures to bring sects together and denying violence and sectarianism.
Activities Determinations
The main bases for the center’s work are truth, objectivity, and freedom of expression which are the bases of dialogue for better future through scientific contribution in the intellectual life, support the cooperation between academics and intellectuals, building a connection bridge with research centers and thinking institutes in Iraq and the world for better results, and contemporary and future analysis in the framework of scientific research and thinking taking into consideration affecting factors first and foremost:
1. The growth of extremism, violence, and terrorism which requires local, regional, and international coordinated efforts to fight this destructive phenomenon and to protect security, stability, and global peace.
2. The increase in the electronic and knowledge gap between developed and developing countries while technology is progressing in all fields in addition to the revolution in the media and communication fields. This has an impact on growth rates and progress of societies, their competitiveness, their values, traditions, and internal stability.
3.. The focus on the importance of sustainable human development to create and develop scientific and qualified staffs who are capable of dealing with modern tools within the vision of Ahl Al-Bayt doctrine (peace be upon them), interact with its mechanisms and its innovation, which has become a necessity for the process of development and progress in various fields by active participation of all sectors of the society in general and youth in particular.
The Structure of the Center
It was taken into consideration that the center is made to be a model for other thinking and free opinion institutes and in accordance with recommendations of al-Hussein Holy Shrine Administration. It is supported by a digital system equipped with advanced research tools to provide information instantly and continuously to transfer the product using modern media equipment. The center structure is based on the following:
First: Board of Trustees; function and duties
1. Specialized in planning the general policy framework for the scientific activities and the research sections to fit the objectives of the center.
2. The Board holds meets semi-annually and may hold a special meeting to discuss specific topics.
3. The president of the board may invite experts and advisers to attend meetings when necessary. 4. The board discusses, approves the different research sections plans, and coordinates the sections work. It also makes and manages detailed plans for the research activity in different areas.
5.. Planning and organization of research grants and the training courses for researchers in order to support and develop modern research staffs either from inside or outside the center with the center human resources or by the potential cooperation with other research centers and institutes.
6. The organization of foreign relations, research cooperation, and exchange of knowledge and scientific visits with local and international research bodies.

Second: The Advisory Board
The Scientific Advisory Board includes an elite group of academics experts, specialists, and public figures who provide scientific advice on issues related to the annual plan of scientific activities and research programs. The members of the board participate in the center scientific activities individually or collectively according to the nature of each activity and its requirements.

Third: The Center Departments
The center is trying to deliver its message by designing and managing research departments with goals and programs to serve its project of developing all sides of Islamic Society. The Center Departments are:
1. Strategic Planning:
This department decides the strategic goals, all works and necessary activities to achieve these goals. It takes into consideration the center’s internal and external changes and studies in a comprehensive way.
2. Advanced training and Research Cooperation Department:
It is concerned with these programs: A- The program of training young researchers and active staffs in the community (private institutions / reporters / writers / intermediate leaderships) B- Cooperation and Joint Research Projects Program.
3.. Research and Development Department:
This department manages activities related to projects that fall within the scope of work of the center, which include the studies and research projects proposed by the center management and Board of Advisors to find the better solutions and identify processing steps according to the center’s vision.
4. Writing, Translation, and Editing Department:

A-The Program of Satellite and Electronic Media attitude analysis and interacting with them.
B- Media Coordination and the Expand of base of Program Influence.
C- The development of electronic websites, electronic publishing and websites marketing.
6. Community Culture and Counterterrorism Department:
It is concerned with the following programs:
B- Youth education Program.
C- Sustainable Development and Community Participation Program. The program is systematic according to the visions and ideas of the school of Ahl Albyat (peace be upon them).
Fourth: Karbala Encyclopedia Project
The Center aims to record the history of the holy city of Karbala, record all its religious, social, and other sides through producing a comprehensive Encyclopedia written according to the scientific standards, characterized by preciousness, subjectivity, and according to the current demands.

Sixth: Al-Hussein’s Research Department
It is concerned with analytic studies of Al-Hussein’s Blessed Revolution.
Main Activities
First: the center publications
The center is preparing a set of regular and special scientific publications that include studies, research, and analyses of issues that interest the center. The center urges researchers to write books about the religious, cultural, and legacy of the holy city of Karbala; among these publications.
1. AS-Sibt Accurate Journal: The journal publishes scientific research about the holy city of Karbla and al-Hussein’s blessed revolution (The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Research and Development Department letter No. B.C. 4/1974 in 2015).
2. Al-Shabab Magazine: A general magazine about the young and is issued in cooperation with Al-Mustafa Internation University in Holy Qum.
3. TESNEEM Magazine: a cultural magazine published in Arabic and other languages. The magazine writes about the legacy of the Islamic Civilization derived from the Ahl Albyat thoughts. It is aimed to address the western cultural.
4. The Center News Journal: An annual journal about the center news and scientific activities.
5. Special Editions journals: to publish the main recommendations, special studies, and the news of conferences and seminars.
6. Series of translations: It displays, analyzes, and spreads the global thinking on issues and developments affecting the Muslim area or the region. It also displays how the world sees our issues. It translates the books into other languages with an analytical introduction, and commentary on the subject matter.

8. The publication of a total guide about archeological, geographical, and active institutions in Karbala.
9. The center is also trying to republish and translate books about al-Hussein’s revolution and the holy city of Karbala. Besides, translating all the above into international languages.
Second: Media
The center produces a variety of multi-media (CDs / DVDs, video tapes, and cassette tapes, etc.) include the main activities to be available to the concerned private or public sides, and for broadcasting.
Third: The Website
The website is aimed to publish the statements and activities electronically, provide the readers with services, database, and electronic library, and to receive their feedback. The center activities are available and can be downloaded as audios and/or videos. They are available in Arabic, English, or other languages. The website is updated regularly. www.c-karbala.com
Fourth: Cooperation and exchange of Knowledge
The center is trying to build a broad base of cooperation and exchange of experience and knowledge with an extensive network of centers, scientific and research institutes, centers of knowledge interested in the areas of the center's activity, UN organizations, international bodies, experts, researchers, intellectuals, businessmen, and public figures.
Fifth: Conferences and Seminars
1. Holding local and international conferences adopted and managed according to the center’s scientific plan.
2. Preparing and holding seminars, weekly and monthly workshops regularly by inviting researchers from different fields.
3. Participating and supporting conferences held by the governmental or other academic institutes.
Sixth: Classification, project design, monitoring and evaluation
The center works on classifying information according to the timetables, writing down the work projects, and doing evaluation studies. It is following-up the project process to evaluate the operation process as well as to develop the temporary and permanent work sections according to the center’s project and distributes tasks on the individuals working in this stage.
Seventh: Media and Public Relations
• To establish and supervise the activities of local and international conferences regularly.
• To provide communication with institutions and individuals participating in the local and international conferences and events.
• To supervise of regular publications, media posts, and the production of the center media programs.

In the frame of the vision and goals of the center, whether on the local level or on building bridges of dialogue with the world's various regional centers, the broad base of the recipients include:
» Legislative bodies, organizations, political parties, and government administration.
» Cultural and media institutions, men of thought and opinion on both public and local level.
» Research centers, experts, researchers and analysts at home and abroad.
» Bodies, institutions, associations and business chambers.
» The general public, especially youth and women's organizations concerned with the Muslim World issues.
» All NGOs locally, regionally, and internationally.
