Supreme religious authority calls on those in power to sense the demands of citizens and interact with them to resolve these demands

The Supreme religious authority called on those in positions of responsibility about the necessity to show compassion, love, and kindness of the parish and sense to their pain, suffering, and problems in order to solve them.

The representative of the supreme religious authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalai, has said during the second Friday prayer's sermon held at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein "peace be upon him" on November 22, 2019, that "We will mention one of the passages of the letter sent by Imam Ali (peace be upon him) to his companion Malik al-Ashtar, when he entrusted him to rule Egypt, as a hope that these guidelines would be a reminder and an insight to all those in power."

Al-Karbalai added that "The Imam (peace be upon him) said in that letter (Fill your heart with mercy, love and kindness toward your parish), indicating that the Imam (peace be upon him) was talking about the foundations and elements of the just rule to the people, which holds the factors of survival, stability, and prosperity."

"Imam Ali (peace be upon him) directs that the ruler must fill their heart with kindness and compassion toward the parish because this kindness and compassion required from the ruler would make him/her sense the concerns of the people and their suffering, demands, and grievances," he said, adding that "When the ruler sense those feelings, he/she would interact with them and will seek to resolve them, but if he/she was uncompassionate and cruel-hearted, then this cruelty will constitute a barrier between the ruler and the sensitivity of the grievances, pain, and suffering of the parish."

"When the ruler or the official loses this sensitivity, then he/she will not be attentive to these pain, suffering, and demands, and will not interact with them or seek to solve them, which leads to their accumulation and the occurrence of a lot of problems and unrests," Al-Karbalai added.

The representative of the supreme religious authority pointed out that "The difference in expressions used by Imam Ali (peace be upon him) within his letter, has an indication that the words (Mercy) is meant for the affairs of parish, while the word (Love) is for those who serve others and work for their benefit, as for the word (Kindness), is related to some who need to be treated kindly in order to lead them to the right path and not to harm others."
