Supreme Religious Authority: That’s why some unreligious societies have achieved high levels of development and prosperity

The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai has pointed during the Friday’s sermon at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, that some societies have achieved high levels of development and prosperity despite the fact they do not follow a certain religion.

Al-Karbalai said during the sermon held on October 23, 2018 that “The society’s culture is one of the ingredients for successful professional performance components,” pointing to the importance of appreciating the society’s culture and the respect shown for work.

He added that some successful societies consider perfecting the job as a holy and valuable principle, in which it related to the homeland and its people," noting that "The society where its educational and family institutions show interest in teaching the members of this society about loving and honoring the work as a holy and esteemed value, is a successful society, while no society can achieve success when its institutions do not make enough efforts about educating its members in every aspect of life."

He also stressed on the importance of seeking to educate the society starting from the family, saying that "We hope from the family and related institutions to take care of educating the individual and society that work is a sacred and respected principle to make it beloved at the level of individual and social entity, on the contrary, if those institutions did not care or give enough attention about this issue, the society will be surrounded by laziness, lethargy and dependence on others, leading to backwardness against other societies and the lack of utilization of wealth, potentials and manpower.

The sermon preacher has called on all institutions, universities and educational entities to give enough attention about educating the community about this important and sacred principle so that there is a love and a rush to work, as some societies and individuals are motivated and active in their work to the level that the individuals find theirselves mastering their jobs because of the great responsibility on their shoulders that forbids them from slacking in the job.

Al-Karbalai has also stressed on the need to take into account the administrative systems and measures in the work field, indicating that the community is raised sometimes by voluntary education and sometimes by procedures that lead to empowering the individual and community to love work and rush for it.
