The supreme religious authority: The country needs a trustful ruler and an honest media to cover the facts

The representative of the supreme religious authority Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai pointed out that "We need to open a wide door to get out of the tragic situation that we are going through".

Al-Karbalai added during the Friday sermon prayer held at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein "PBUH" on January 17, 2020, that "We need a sincere and responsible ruler who is honest with his obligations and promises, and trustworthy to look after his parish in various fields."

"The society desperately needs honest media that transmits truthful news and verified facts," he added, pointed out that "The society also needs the analyst who is honest with their analysis, whether it was political, economic, social or historical analysis".

The representative of the supreme religious authority explained, "The society also needs the honest historian or author who is sincere in their citing to the historical facts and the events occurred to peoples and nations in order to receive acceptance for what they wrote and to deliver the benefit gained from the experiences of nations and reformist leaders, as well as to keep history safe immune to falsification and misleading."

Al-Karbalai said that "Society needs the doctor, the engineer, and the public service employee who are honest with their work, and the teacher who shows dedication in their teachings to students. The same rule also applies to farmers, workers, and other types of citizens."

He stated that "We urgently need the honesty to keep our promises and to fulfill our obligations in various fields of life, as honesty in these areas will contribute to the development and prosperity of society."
