The reconstructions of Imam Hussein's holy shrine after the Wahhabi invasion

After the devastation made by Wahhabi invasion on Karbala in 1216 Hijri, the wife of Shah of Qajar Iran "Fath-Ali Šâh Qâjâr" has gilded the minarets in the holy shrine of Imam Hussein "peace be upon him" in 1237 Hijri.

After that, the king of Persia "Nasiruddin Shah" decorated the insides of the holy shrine with mirrors and inscriptions that were described in history books as "one of the most magnificent works".

These reconstructions were fully completed in 1264-1313 Hijri. (1)
